Come Wine With Us and Fleur du Cap Wines: #ShareYourFlare Cape Town
With the end of the year in sight and the festive season upon us, now is as good a time as any to indulge in good food and wine. Cape Town’s long, bright, beautiful evenings and Moyo Blouberg’s unrivaled views of the unspoilt shores of the West Coast resulted in an exceptional end to a delightful year with the final Come Wine With Us event of 2018.
Moyo Blouberg is not only known for its views — which include Robben Island and Table Mountain. It is also famed for being one of a handful of restaurants of the same name that take absolute care in preparing our flavourful African cuisine. Few restaurants are as proficient in bringing out the mouth-watering flavours, aromas and spices that only a country as colourful as ours could produce. Given that Come Wine With Us was not only born here in South Africa but also celebrates South Africa’s best wines, it is no surprise that this is where we decided to end an exciting and successful year.
Unsurprisingly, Fleur du Cap’s wines delivered full flare and flavour in our #ShareYourFlare collaboration. Why “Share your flare”? In the words of Fleur du Cap, “Flair is something that’s woven into the very fabric of how you live your life. In that moment, you realise that you ‘re not bound by what you’ve been told, but rather that you act based on those choices you’ve made. Embracing your freedom to choose, taste and act… The freedom of flair.” What better way to embody this notion than by celebrating African food and some of Fleur Du Cap’s most exquisite wines? Enjoyed on the evening were some of the Essence du Cap range – specifically the Pinotage, Pinot Noir and the Late Harvest. From the Fleur De Vie range guests enjoyed the Natural Light Chenin, and in addition they enjoyed a delightful 2016 Fleur Du Cap Unfiltered Chardonnay.
In addition to the five remarkable wines that guests were able to enjoy, their palettes were treated to an incredible variety of authentic African dishes which were served in generous portions. Guests were able to help themselves as the plates and bowls of food came pouring out of the kitchen, all while sipping on fine — well-paired — Fleur Du Cap wines.
Good food, great wine and, best of all, wonderful company were what made the evening an unforgettable experience. We were thrilled to cap off the year with such a stunning event, and look forward to more Come Wine With Us events in the new year.
